The Hershey's Track & Field Games Program has modified events which qualify for the North American Finals. Relay Teams in the 9/10 and 11/12 year old age groups will no longer qualify to travel for the North American Final Meet each year. The State Championship Meet will be the highest level these two age groups will compete at in the Relay, just as the 7/8 year old group. ONLY the 13/14 year old Relay Teams will have the opportunity to qualify for the North American Final Meet this year in the 4X100 Meter Relay Event. Because of this change HTF has modified its Maximum Event Rule for these two Age Groups. Each Participant in the 9/10 and 11/12 Age Groups can participate in a maximum of three (3) events as in the past and as is stated in the Rulebook. However, now participation on a Relay Team will not count towards the maximum of three (3) events. With this change we in Louisiana will also use this new rule in the 7/8 year old age groups. Only the 13/14 age groups MUST count participation on a Relay Team towards their maximum of three (3) events as stated in the HTF Rulebook.
