Program Rules & Guidelines

This Program utilizes the National Federation of High Schools Track and Field rules along with several amendments. The complete North American Program rules can be found at the following web address: www.hersheystrackandfield.com

Louisiana's Amended Rules

	7 and 8 year olds, as determined by their age as of December 31, 2010, may compete in the Program up to the State Meet.
	First and second place finishers for each event in each group will qualify for the State Meet from each Local, provided each participant does not violate the maximum of 3 events rule plus a Relay as stated in the North American Rulebook for the 9/10 and 11/12 age groups.

Register to Host A Local Meet

Use the following link to register to host a Local Competition. All Local Meet registrations must be entered online through the Hershey's Track & Field Games website. Once this information is received by me I will approve the competition and mail you a Local Host Packet.

You will also receive an "Activation Kit" from Hershey's if you are a new Local Host. This registration will create an account on the website for your Local which will allow you to get information and print materials for your meet. It will also require you to enter your Local Meet Participation results/information online. This must be done online to maintain an approved status, which allows your State Meet Qualifiers to participate in the State Meet.

NOTE: If you have registered online in previous years you must create a new account each year. At the end of each calendar year all accounts are deleted, so returning coordinators must create a new account each year. This is to reduce the confusion we have had regarding which accounts are active and which are not since many coordinators have had multiple accounts. Louisiana has now adopted the "Coach O" online registration system for Local Meets to submit their State Meet Qualifiers. You will need to register your Local as in the past. Once your Local Meet date is created online you will be sent the information you need to create your free account on "Coach O" and submit your Qualifiers. This online system takes the place of the Hy-Tek Team Manager software and should make it easier for you to complete your submittals. Use the following link to access the registration area on Coach O instead of using steps #3 and #4, then continue with the written steps to complete your entries.

Get the Fast Track to Sports Kit! This is a fantastic new item provided by Hershey Foods to Local Coordinators if they register and actually hold their Local Meet. The Kit has a DVD and Starting Guide which is ideal to Teach the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing. These basics of all sports are incredibly important to all Youth and necessary.
