Program Rules & Guidelines
This Program utilizes the National Federation of High Schools Track and Field rules along with several amendments. The complete North American Program rules can be found at the following web address: www.hersheystrackandfield.com
Louisiana's Amended Rules
 | 7 and 8 year olds, as determined by their age as of December 31, 2010, may compete in the Program up to the State Meet. |
| First and second place finishers for each event in each group will qualify for the State Meet from each Local, provided each participant does not violate the maximum of 3 events plus a Relay rule as stated in the North American Rulebook for the 9/10 and 11/12 age groups. |
| **NEW** Any School, Track Club or Group with 20 or more participants wishing to register for a Sanctioned Local Meet Competition must do so by hosting its own Local Meet. This is to increase participation counts for the Program and to afford more Participants the opportunity to qualify for the State Championship Meet. |
Find A Local Meet
Any School and/or Track Club having 20 or more members wishing to participate in a Local Meet will be required to host their own Local Meet instead of attending another Local. This helps us to increase the participation opportunities for the youth of Louisiana and to grow the State Program. It is free and easy to run your own Local Meet.
